Hey there! I’m Endego Montoya. I love to cook. I don’t have the speed and stamina to work as a chef in a restaurant. I do however have serious skill in my home restaurant aka kitchen. Consider your own kitchen as a restaurant. You’re the head chef, manager and m’atradee. I’m in my early 50’s, married for 26 years, father of one teenage boy. I am a graphic artist and designer by trade. I am the baby in a family of six. 3 boys, 3 girls. Our parents have long since passed, but their passion for cooking lives on in all my brothers and sisters. We all started in the kitchen as soux-chefs under the tutelage of our father Bill. Yeah, back in the 50’s and 60’s our dad was the head chef of our home kitchen. Mom died when I was a baby and her sister and her husband moved in with us to help dad out for a few years.

Dad was a pharmacist. He worked his way through college as a short order cook at various restaurants. Later working his way up to chef at fancier restaurants. After graduating he gave up his chef career, got married, started a family and went to work as a pharmacist. Aunt Peggy, she wasn’t much of a cook. I mean, she had her dishes we kids loved – but the majority of her dishes were nasty. Uncle Dick – he was an eater. Never cooked. He’d eat anything and claim it delicious. The man had a cast iron gut.

After Aunt Peggy and Uncle Dick moved away, Dad did most of the cooking and in the process taught us kids the skills he knew so we’d be prepared to fend for ourselves in our adult lives. (I encourage you to do the same in my section called “Cooking With Kids”) The six of us kids all share the passion of cooking and still stay in close touch with each other. And when we get together as a whole or in small groups – oh baby, the kitchen is in full swing and every meal is a feast! I almost made this site AllAboutBacon.com, but that was too limiting.
